Erie County Career Pathways Alliance

Erie Together convenes and facilitates the Erie County Career Pathways Alliance (ECCPA), which we formed with local stakeholders in mid-2016. This group has made great progress since its launch, and highlights from our work, recently shared at a statewide workforce development conference, can be found here.

Two important areas of focus in recent years have been our Skilled Trades and Profile of a Graduate projects. Each have made a tremendous impact so far, and more exciting things lie ahead!

In June 2025, we released a new set of Career Pathway Flyers, showcasing “high priority occupations” and “in-demand occupations” grounded in regional and statewide data, respectively. These flyers were designed to help students, families, and job seekers better understand the local job market, education levels required with various careers, and average entry-level earning potential. They also provide links to other resources helpful for career exploration, understanding education and training options, and making informed decisions for the future.

The ECCPA’s Mission is to implement a countywide career pathways system that successfully prepares Erie County students for post-secondary education and training and future careers. Its Vision is a community where all students graduate high school on time, with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in life after high school and to thrive in their community

All Erie County school districts are invited to participate, and most do. Other participating stakeholders include local employers, Erie Together’s Career Street program, our three (high school-level) career and technical centers, NWPA Job Connect (the Workforce Development Board), Northwest Tri-County IU #5, local college/universities, GECAC, the Corry Hi-Ed Council, and others.

With the input of strategic industry advisory groups, the active engagement of local employers, and the clear commitment of educators, we are opening doors, creating resources, and developing new opportunities for students to explore careers and prepare for their future. The resources we’ve developed, including career exploration experience templates, career pathways-related flyers, and a whole host of career-related videos and interviews, are accessible through our Career Street website.
