Profile of a Graduate

During the 2022/23 school year, Erie Together led the creation of a new, invaluable resource for Erie County: our Profile of a Graduate (also pictured below). This project was shepherded through our Erie County Career Pathways Alliance and a 40-member Community Steering Committee with outside consulting assistance.

The Profile of a Graduate articulates the skills and attributes we, in Erie County, believe our high school graduates should possess in order to achieve success throughout their lifetime. In February 2025 we worked with an external expert to have our Profile of a Graduate documents translated into five commonly spoken languages locally:

We also worked with an outside expert to develop a comprehensive Profile of a Graduate Workbook for use by youth-serving organizations, schools, parents, caregivers, and others. Designed primarily for high school students, the workbook includes a pre- and post-assessment, 15 hands-on activities, facilitator instructions, student worksheets, answer keys, and suggestions for continued learning that help students develop and strengthen the skills identified in Erie Together’s Profile of a Graduate. This practical resource can be used in classrooms, after-school programs, youth organizations, or at home to help prepare students for success in careers, college, and life.

The translation work and activity book development were supported 100% by the PA Department of Labor and Industry of the U.S. Department of Labor, as part of an award totaling $87,000 with $0.00 and 0% financed from nongovernmental sources.
