Our Leadership

Erie Together is built on the belief that real, lasting progress happens when the entire community works together. We prioritize community, seeking and embracing input from all Erie County stakeholders and citizens to shape our agenda, strengthen our partnerships, and guide our action plans. Everyone is welcome - and encouraged - to participate in our work.

Our leadership reflects this commitment. The individuals serving on our board of directors bring diverse perspectives, deep community roots, and a shared dedication to ensuring Erie Together’s efforts remain inclusive, collaborative, and responsive to local needs.

From Movement to Organization

Erie Together began as an unincorporated, community-driven movement that united residents, schools, employers, service providers, and civic leaders around a shared vision for strengthening Erie County. From the beginning, we invited broad participation from every corner of the county to make the Erie region a community of opportunity where everyone can learn, work, and thrive.

As our work grew, so did the need for structure and sustainability. To support long-term impact, Erie Together formally incorporated as a Pennsylvania nonprofit in 2023 and obtained 501 (c) (3) status. This transition enables us to expand our initiatives, increase accountability, and provide a strong organizational foundation - while holding firm to our community-first roots.

Board of Directors

The Erie Together Board of Directors represents a cross-section of Erie County’s talent, industries, and communities. Their role is to ensure strong governance, strategic oversight, and meaningful community representation in every aspect of our work. Our board members serve as champions for broad engagement - seeking input, elevating community voices, and helping us stay aligned with the needs and aspirations of our region. Board members, as of January 1, 2026, include:

  • Debra Liebel, Chairperson

  • Georgia Del Freo, Vice Chairperson

  • John Rushe, Treasurer/Secretary

  • Amy Eisert, Board Member

  • Laura Lewis, Board Member Emerita
