Erie Together Highlights for July 2012

During the month of June, the four countywide Action Teams met to further actions on their goals.

  •     Action Team 1 continues to work towards development of an evaluation tool to meausure child aptitude for the Kindergarten Readiness checklist.  They are also developing plans on how to get the word out on importance of early childhood education.
  •     Action Team 2 shared survey results of 8th graders on careers and skills.  The team is looking at how to create positive connections for students and parents between post secondary education and training schools transition.
  •     Action Team 3 is working towards countywide concensus for measuring self sufficiency.  Team members continue to work with Grace Church on the Family Action Team pilot, which is working with a number of families and mentors in the Erie region.
  •     Action Team 4 is putting final revisions on the Work Readiness checklist, which is designed to help individuals understand basic personal, social, communication, team work and other soft skills and qualities employers are looking for.
