Building Awareness Block by Block

Erie Together has been working to raise awareness about the importance of quality early education for children. As part of these  efforts we have created the Kindergarten Readiness Checklist outlining skills necessary for Kindergarten, the Ready Set Go Progress Chart to help parents and children celebrate new skills, the Kindergarten Registration flyer so that families know when to register children, and the Kindergarten Readiness Tool Kit to give parents hands-on activities to help children achieve those skills. We've also worked to enroll children in United Way of Erie County's Imagination Library program so that children have access to free, high quality books mailed directly to their home and with the Erie Family Center and Union City Family Support Center "Parents As Teachers" program to help parents realize their important role in school readiness. Now, we're taking this valuable information and resources to the streets - Block by Block.
